I figure I'd start off with one of the most annoying remarks in the history of the internet. It's perfectly understandable too; it contributes nothing either in content, wit or even sheer assholeishness. Why do we us it so much then? One possibility is trolling, people just like to be dicks on the internet and thus anything that pisses others off is worth doing. Another answer is that people just have to say something regardless of its value or lack thereof. These people generally become two different types of web users. They become trolls, stalking the web looking for anything to spread annoyance and frustration. The rest become bloggers. I intend to become this kind of person, hopefully.
To be honest I'm not the type of person who would typically take up blogging. I never had a personal journal or the like out of fear over privacy issues. But this is the modern era after all where privacy is a myth. Seriously, take a look at facebook and you'll realize that you know more about an acquaintance than you used to know about your best friend.
But I digress, the general idea is that first posts help get the ball rolling, even if's an awkward lop-sided ball.
